Previously, Julia has worked in the public school system as a counseling intern. In her internship,Julia helped counsel students with anxiety, depression, executive functioning deficits, and those with neurodiverse ways of thinking and being in the world. She loved her experience working with adolescents and young children in schools and is looking forward to engaging in more clinical work in the private practice setting.

Julia is passionate about advocating for the accessibility of counseling services and is excited to offer a reduced rate for clients as an intern. She also respects and welcomes people of all racial and cultural backgrounds. Her Christian faith in the healing and re-creative power of Jesus compels her to believe that healing, restoration, and hope are possible for all people.

Julia believes that a trusting relationship is the foundation and catalyst for therapeutic growth and so aims to create safe, empathetic, and understanding spaces in therapy into which clients can bring their authentic selves. She takes a collaborative approach to therapy, wherein both the client and therapist work together towards the client’s physical, mental, relational, emotional, and spiritual flourishing. She tends towards Cognitive Behavioral techniques.

Outside of the office, Julia loves to enjoy lingering meals with friends, group fitness, and reading outside (particularly at the beach).
